As a product designer in the field of machine and plant engineering you create 3D - CAD data sets and technical documentation in compliance with construction, design and customer specifications. In addition you assign material and supplies according to industry-specific material standards.

Another of your responsibilities is the review of the manufacturing and assembly process, assembly techniques and the integration of the results into the design process. Even the creating of technical supporting documentation, maintenance and management of these documents and perform subject-specific manual and software-based calculations falls within the remit of the product designer.

In your training time, basics of control and electrical engineering as well as the ability to create detailed designs are given to you.

Planning, organizing and coordinating of work processes in the design process from economic and quality assurance aspects and applying information and communication technologies with respect to data security are other activities of a product designer .

Often your tasks include the editing of English documents, correspondence and communicating with customers in English.

At least good secondary school completion
